Job Summary:

The F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Program is focused on the modernization of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) to meet aircraft upgraded Block-4 capability requirements. The Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) organization is responsible for the integration of components, modules and sub-systems into aircraft propulsion systems.

Pratt & Whitney F135 ECU EDSI Team is looking for a principal systems integration engineer who will be focusing on telemetry sub-system integrated Product Team (SSIPT) and Systems Engineering Master Plan (SEMP) for the design, development, and certification of the F135 ECU. Selected candidate will work closely with PW and F-35 JSF Joint Program Office (JPO) leadership to develop plans, execute, provide regular progress updates, and meet Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) government requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Product Safety, Certification and Validation (PSCV), Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and EDSI teams to develop telemetry SSIPT requirements, work scope and schedule to meet program test schedule.
• Execute telemetry SSIPT scope using agile process with all participating teams and provide regular update to PW and JPO leads at agile demo days and program milestone reviews.
• Own the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverable for SEMP through full program life cycle and provide update to JPO at major program milestones.
• Plan the SEMP update scope for each program milestone using JPO guidance and work with functional leads to complete updates and schedule reviews with JPO counterparts.   
• Support design integration activities like Team Center (TC) configuration management, weight and mass properties, clearances and gapping as required.
• Support agile planning and digital transformation activities for design integration function.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, development, and/or test. Or a master’s degree in a related field and minimum 5+ years of experience.
• 3+ years experience with Team center and project management.
• 3+ years experience with Agile engineering practices.
• Less than 10% travel expected.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Security Clearance.
• International Trade Compliance (ITC) with experience in export jurisdiction and classification.
• Knowledge of jet engine operation and experience in engineering with module center product knowledge.
• 3+ years experience working with military customers and being comfortable presenting to both military and PW leadership.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
