Position Summary:
The System Director of Integration and Interoperability, working collaboratively with the Vice President of Data Platform and Services, is responsible for establishing the integration and interoperability strategy and execution plan that achieves the ITS organization's vision of data liquidity. Data liquidity will enable HHC's aspirations towards advanced analytics, digital transformation, and innovation, ultimately achieving HHC's vision of being the most trusted in personalized coordinated care. The System Director will lead the planning, operations and support for all data integration, interoperability, conversion and archiving services for all HHC owned solutions, aligned physician practices and business partners, regulatory compliance and acquisitions. The System Director will also work closely with the System Director of Data Engineering, the Director of Data Governance, and the Director of Data Intelligence to develop and evolve Hartford HealthCare's Data and Digital Platform (H2D2).
Key Accountabilities:

  • Creates an interoperability vision and strategic roadmap to enable advanced analytics, digital transformation, and technology innovation
  • Engages with executive leadership across the enterprise to effectively rationalize demand for ITS integration and interoperability services, identify new and innovative solutions, communicate project status, resolve gaps in service and identify opportunities for integration, consolidation, standardization and optimization
  • Leads the design and architecture of HHC's data and digital platform in order to achieve data liquidity
  • Leads the enterprise to design, develop, adopt and effectively utilize the ITS integration and interoperability services and processes
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to all entities by leading ITS through direct engagement, helping to clearly identify goals and objectives, prioritize requests, monitoring activity and training services
  • Oversees the Interoperability area including design, development, implementation, operation and process improvement
  • Facilitates the integration and consolidation of all new acquisitions
  • Leads the enterprise efforts to integrate effectively with the state and federal government to improve care and reporting
  • Leads the design, architecture, and development of HHC's integration and interoperability platform which includes but is not limited to an API Gateway
  • Ensures all outcomes and deliverables meet organizational goals, objectives and quality standards. Manages the budget for the assigned cost centers and demonstrates fiduciary accountability
  • Manage existing solutions, (e.g., Corepoint, implementation mapping, validation tools) data, and services associated with this domain
  • Communicates with business leaders effectively in order to set proper expectations for all executives, directors, managers and staff. Promotes integration, consolidation, standardization and optimization and presenting it positively to the user community

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Ten plus years of experience within the integration and interoperability field
  • Five plus years of progressive leadership experience
  • Expert in healthcare interoperability standards including EDI, HL7, CDA and FHIR
  • Deep understanding of CCD, CCA, and HIE foundations
  • Deep experience and understanding with API design and development
  • Experience with data transformation and conversion
  • Knowledge of secure file transfer, patient identity, computer programming and interface engine concepts
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and the 21st Century Cures Act
  • Certification in Epic Bridges and Epic Care Everywhere a plus
  • Working knowledge of Corepoint interface engine a plus
  • Experience with Google HDE and Google Apigee is a plus
