Are you a people person? Do you know how to make a great first impression?
If you are a talented, responsible, team player with a desire to learn and grow personally and professionally, Animal Emergency Center (AEC) may be the right fit for you! We have seen incredible growth at both of our hospitals and are currently looking to add 1-2 experienced full or part time Veterinary Receptionists at our Rochester Hills hospital location.
This is a great time for a fresh start in our new home! Just over a year ago we moved into this brand new 14,000 sqft facility less than 3 miles from our previous location. We have a beautiful hospital and lobby area for our receptionists and customers, a state of the art phone system and a fun staff of doctors and technicians to work with!
The ideal candidate will be people and pet friendly, outgoing, energetic and possess 2+ years of experience in a receptionist or customer service role. You should be courteous and polite, a quick thinker in an emergency, and able to maintain composure even in stressful situations. Experience at a veterinary clinic or other animal care related business is strongly preferred. We are seeking someone with a flexible schedule (able to work weekends and holidays), able to multi-task, and with a strong desire to learn. If you are a veterinary student, this is a great opportunity for hands on experience and to grow into a future veterinary assistant or veterinary technician role!
As a Receptionist for Animal Emergency Center you will likely be the first contact point for families and individuals that may be experiencing an emergency with their pet. Your first and foremost responsibility is to compassionately assist these potential clients in providing the information they need to help their pet. This may include dialogue with them about their pet's condition, providing directions to one of our hospitals, or just helping them find answers to their questions (our doctors and technicians will assist with medical related issues, but our receptionists need to be able to respond professionally and appropriately to common emergency situations).
In addition to answering the multi-line phone system, the receptionist greets clients when they arrive at our hospital; interacts with clients, technicians and doctors during their visit; helps check clients in/out and process payments; and helps with filing of medical records and typical administrative duties.
AEC has been providing Emergency and Critical Care services since 2002. We are AAHA certified and the only 24 hour veterinary emergency hospital in Southeastern Michigan that welcomes all exotic and avian species. We practice high quality emergency medicine and coordinate with referring veterinarians and specialists to offer the highest standard of patient care possible for our patients.
AEC provides competitive pay with a top-notch benefit package that includes Medical, Dental and Vision care; Continuing Education and Uniform Allowance; Simple IRA; Vacation/Personal time; discounts on emergency services for your pets as well as discretionary profit sharing bonuses.
Our staff includes over 16 great veterinarians and a friendly, supportive family of dedicated technicians and employees. If you are interested in joining a team that is committed to inspiring others through our heartfelt care, compassion and dedication to excellence, please email your resume and cover letter today!
