Summit Dog and Cat Hospital is on the hunt for an experienced (4 years minimum) or licensed veterinary technician who is looking to take the plunge into a hands on role. As a veterinary hospital leader, you should be ready to:

-Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals

-Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians

-Monitor animals during surgery and recovery

-Prepare and maintain laboratory samples and records

-Care for boarding and hospitalized pet. This includes medications, walking and all care needed during their stay with us

-Client call backs, refill medications

-Take and develop X-rays

-Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and their owners

-Start the Drs notes

-Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and kennels

Skills:

-Proficient in dog handling and animal restraint techniques

-Understanding of veterinary critical care practices

-Cornerstone experience a plus

-Knowledge of aseptic technique for surgical procedures

-Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment

-Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, stand on your feet for extended periods of time. Lift over 50 pounds

-Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
