ROLE DEFINITION
Located in the MiOPS I-Park in Midland, MI DuPont is hiring a Material Handling Operator II at the Automotive manufacturing plant. The Midland Auto Plant produces glass bonding primers and urethanes to supply OEM, tiered, and aftermarket automotive customers. In this role you will monitor and operate equipment and facilities for packaging and warehouse coordination, while ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures, maintaining safety standards at all times.
As a Material Handler you will be responsible for the safe and timely reception, loading, transport, and storage of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies. In addition, you will be responsible for the packaging and labeling of finished product and obtain samples for laboratory testing. This position may operate either on a day schedule (Monday - Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM) or on a 12-hour rotating shift according to business need.
RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION
Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:
• Prepare drums, load trailers, scan drums, run inventory reports, track faulty materials
• Pull samples, stage raw materials, weigh and mix raw materials, filter changes
• Package primer into bottle and pails, verify labels, valve interaction, inspect bottles and pails, and palletize primer boxes and pails
• Provide coordination of inventory moves between five different warehouses
• Assure efficient operations and effectiveness by prioritization of shift activities, resources, people, and materials as well as supporting automation improvement projects
• Provide first-line conflict resolution
• Assure compliance to all rules and regulations for shift, including all Environmental Health & Safety requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
• A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required
• 1+ years of experience in an industrial setting is required
• A valid US driver's license is required
• Willing and able to work a 12-hour shift, rotating schedule including holidays
• Willing and able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is preferred
• In addition, successful candidate must meet the following physical qualifications, with or without accommodation:
o Willing and able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE), such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex protective eyewear, face shields, and arc protective clothing
o Willing and able to lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs
o Willing and able to perform repetitive movement; including climbing several flights of stairs multiple times per day, stand, stoop, and bend
