Experienced Farmer Wanted

O'Mara farms is currently looking for the ideal candidate to grow along with our growing agriculture operation. The farm is located in Canastota, NY and currently manages 3500 plus acres of crop land throughout Madison, Onondaga, and Oneida county. Corn and soybeans are the main focus with alfalfa, wheat and barley being grown as well. The quality of our equipment line is above average for the industry and is something we take pride in. O'Mara farms has always been on the cutting edge of the agriculture industry and needs the proper employees to help continue this tradition.

MUST HAVE FARM EXPERIENCE.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with Managing day-to-day operations of the farm, including production planning, scheduling, and machinery management.

- Oversee, and perform field work. Capability of operating key equipment such as planter, baler, combine etc. is a must.

- Design and implement profitable crop production practice.

- Continuously improve operations through process improvement.

- Provide leadership and guidance to farm employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of crop production principles and practices.

- Proven experience in crop production planning and management.

- Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.

- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize performance.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Strong communication and leadership abilities.

- CDL not required but is a plus

In this position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the farm operations, ensuring efficient production processes, and driving continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
