The Company

QPC Fiber Optic, a fiber optic technology company headquartered in Laguna Niguel, CA, has recently established new a machine shop in Eastlake, OH to support our rapid growth. We are looking for an experienced 5-axis mill-turn CNC set-up machinist to work on first shift. Great opportunity to work in a climate-controlled environment for company with a quality management system that is certified to the internationally recognized ISO 9001 and AS9100D standards. Our current CNC equipment includes the following 5-axis machines: one Bumotec milling and turning center; three twin-turret and two single-turret Doosan Puma lathes; and one Tsugami Swiss Screw lathe. The company will train on specific equipment and processes.

The Position

QPC needs an experienced 5-axis mill-turn CNC set-up machinist for first shift. Initially, you will be one of three highly skilled machinists. Set-up experience is a must and programming experience is a plus. The company will train on specific equipment and processes.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities

• Set-up CNC machines
• Operations on various shop machines
• Use measurement techniques, and measurement tools including, micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, depth gauges, radius gauges, optical comparators, and a variety of other tools
• Handle and lift heavy tools and materials
• Manage multiple tasks during cycle time
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
• Train new hires as we add staff to support future growth

Requirements

• Minimum Education: high school diploma or GED

• Read, write, and speak English
• Ability to follow tooling instructions

Hours

· Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay

• $35.00 - $45.00 / Hr. DOE
