The Iconic Collection is looking for an Executive Chef to add to our growing team at our landmark property - Parc Detroit. Join us at our premier location in Downtown Detroit with a beautiful view of the city, right on Detroit’s Point of Origin. Enjoy the perfect view of Campus Martius and the gorgeous fountain from any spot in the restaurant. Take in some fresh air during the summer when we open our glass walls and become one with the extravagant outdoors. In the winter, we have the front row seat to the City’s Christmas Tree and Ice Rink. Come onboard at Parc Detroit for a show stopping experience, as we continue to be a part of Detroit’s story.
We are looking for leaders to be part of our culinary team at new properties as well as the growing teams at our Iconic locations. The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in directing food preparation, menu development and cost controls in the kitchen which includes supervising kitchen staff. The Executive Sous Chef will assist with the training/mentoring of new employees as requested and works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service at all times.
Requirements
- Degree in Culinary Science or a related certificate/training preferred
- 5+ years of experience in an Executive Chef position
- Ability to create the perfect pair between meals and our wine selection
- Knowledge of food preparation and existing health and safety standards
- Ability to communicate efficiently and assertively
- Work as a team, stay organized, multi-task, and prioritize
- Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Familiar with industry best practices
