The Louisiana Pest Management Association (LPMA) is a leading organization dedicated to promoting excellence and professionalism in the pest management industry. We are committed to providing valuable resources, advocacy, and support to our members across the state.
Position Overview: LPMA is seeking a motivated and dynamic Executive Director to lead our association's strategic initiatives and operations. The Executive Director will work closely with the LPMA board to engage with members, and drive growth opportunities. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for advancing the pest management industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the association's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with all LPMA committees to enhance the association's future growth.
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of the pest management industry
Advocacy and Representation:
- Advocate for the interests of the pest management industry at the state level, working with government agencies, legislators, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the association at relevant industry events, conferences, and meetings.
Membership Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase membership and member engagement.
- Reach out to potential new members to promote and sell LPMA membership.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective association members.
Event Planning
- Take ownership of arranging the yearly Legislative Day event, including promotion and member engagement.
- Coordinate all aspects of the annual Winter Conference, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a successful event.
- Develop new virtual recertification events annually for both members and non-members.
- Plan and execute other special events, with support from Executive Assistant
Financial Management:
- Oversee the association's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation.
- Balance P&L report on a monthly basis
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships to support the association's initiatives.
Program Development and Management:
- Design and implement programs and services that add value to the association's members.
- Oversee educational initiatives, training programs, and industry events.
Communication and Public Relations:
- Effectively communicate the association's mission, goals, and achievements to members, the public, and the media.
- Manage public relations efforts to enhance the association's image and reputation.
- Engage with current members to reinforce the benefits of LPMA membership and encourage retention.
Board Relations:
- Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates, and collaborating on strategic decisions.
- Facilitate board meetings and ensure effective communication between board members.
- Collaborate with the LPMA board to develop a comprehensive benefits package for new and existing LPMA members.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure the association operates in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and governance policies.
- Provide guidance on legal and regulatory matters affecting the pest management industry.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven success in association management, nonprofit leadership, or related field.
- Knowledge of the pest management industry and regulatory landscape strongly preferred
- Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (Travel Required)
Position Type: Part-Time (20-30 hours per week)
Salary: $25,000 - $50,000 DOE
