Organization

Directs and leads the overall Student Financial Aid and scholarship department in support of the University's mission, enrollment and retention goals and to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal rules, regulations and statutes.

  1. Directs the University's Financial Aid and scholarship operations, processes, services and activities in support of the University's mission and to assist students in meeting the financial costs of their higher education. Responsible for the administration of all private and government aid and scholarship programs.
  2. Provides leadership for the oversight and review of all Financial Aid and scholarship federal, state and local rules, regulations and statutes.
  3. Develops and maintains standards for all Financial Aid and scholarship policies and procedures and assures that customer service to students and campus clients is provided at an outstanding level.
  4. Responsible for development of strategic initiatives for the Scholarships and Financial Aid Department in alignment with the strategic initiatives of the Division and the University.
  5. Serves in a leadership role in coordinating Financial Aid and scholarship services throughout the university, partnering in efforts related to orientation, strategic planning, data generation, registration, billing and collections. Develops relationships with and advises the Provost Office, Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, deans, directors, administrators, and faculty on fiscal and academic Financial Aid and scholarship matters.
  6. Oversees the development of a strong communication and marketing plan including publications, announcements, and messages of all information related to Financial Aid and scholarships.
  7. Provides leadership in the development of required assessment, accounting and statistical data and reports.
  8. Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and manages the Scholarships and Financial Aid staff.
  9. Monitors the operating budget in accordance with university policies and procedures and federal and state rules and regulations.
  10. Serves on a variety of university committees as requested. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Bachelors and 7 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related job experience.
