Job Summary The Executive Director of Human Resources at Health is a senior HR leader position reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Human Resources Officer (AVC and CHRO). Although this position's primary focus pertains to operations at the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, the Executive Director is a member of the Senior Human Resources leadership team that provides strategic leadership and oversight of all UC Davis Human Resources (HR) functions. A key responsibility for this role is partnering with leadership to help shape the future at UC Davis Health. The Executive Director is an organization-wide expert specifically dedicated to supporting UCDH. The Executive Director has significant impact and influence on organizational culture, policy and program development, with organization-wide impact that includes formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a health system of similar size.
  • Minimum of 6 years of increasing responsible and directly related experience in a multidisciplinary, industry leading organization.
  • Experience advising and navigating senior executives and their staff to advance department priorities.
  • Experience leading strategy and/or operations of a large team, including executing change management and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in large scale change management, process design, and project management
  • Skilled in navigating highly complex organizations and the ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity, and strategically promote an inclusive/diverse workforce.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide multiple functions or departments.
  • Excellent communication skills with a diversity of communication styles; demonstrates a high level of political acumen; communicates effectively orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in both large, complex healthcare environment; and higher education institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of UCD Health's operations and culture
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational and systemwide personnel policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of specific functions in a university's HR management information systems.
  • Advanced skills in strategy development, systems planning and change management.

Position Information
  • Salary or Pay Range: $103,500 - 216,500 annually; position qualifies for participation in the CEMRP2 Bonus Plan
  • Salary Frequency: Monthly
