DESCRIPTION:
Administers dental program, directs departmental activities in accordance with accepted HRSA, national standards and administrative policies: Confers with the Dental Director and SAC Health administrators to formulate policies and recommend procedural changes. Assists in resolving provider and departmental issues that may arise. Establishes training program to advance knowledge and clinical skill levels of Dentists and resident dentists. Assists in establishes work schedules and assigns providers to maximize efficiency in patient access. Will be required to provide Dental Services to patients on a regular basis. Other duties as assigned by the CMO.
Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, Monday-Thursday. Salary is based on full-time, 40 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES:
- Administers dental program, directs departmental activities in accordance with accepted HRSA, national standards and administrative policies. Assist in developing the dental care plan for SAC Health and recommend changes as necessary.
- Confers with the Dental Director and SAC's administrators to formulate policies and recommend procedural changes.
- Assists in resolving provider and departmental issue that may arise.
- Establishes training program to advance knowledge and clinical skill levels of Dentists and resident dentists.
- Assists in Establishing and oversees provider work schedules and assigns providers to maximize efficiency in patient access.
- Observes and assists staff members at work to ensure safe and ethical practices and to solve problems and demonstrate techniques.
- Confers with Dental Director, and CFO on budget and statistical reports used to justify expenditures for equipment, supplies, and personnel.
- Oversee and assist the Dental Director in establishing dental policies, quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, and make recommendations.
- Assume quality of care for all dental patients of SAC Health. Adhere to the highest standard of dental practices, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
- Provide Dental Services to patients on a regular basis in accordance with protocols established in that regard and common and standard practices.
- Must become familiar with Federal, State, and local funding agencies' rules and regulations in providing special Dental Services to certain classes of recipients of services.
- Become familiar with Federal and State dental programs and their requirements.
- Ability to travel between SACHS Norton, SB campus and other SAC Health locations.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Successful Graduate from an accredited dental school.
- Licensure/Certification: . Licensure or certification as a Dentist in the State of California is required. DDS/DMD from a dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation; CPR. License to Practice Dentistry in CA, DEA License. Valid CA Driver's License
- Experience: 8-10 years professional clinical dental experience in practicing dentistry. As a requirement of this position you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
