Job description

Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics’ goal is to deliver the highest standard of care. The practice revolves around the essence of the name; access to the specialists and services on time, as well as access to multiple locations for convenience. The Executive Director, at the guidance of the Partners, will oversee and execute all operations of Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. This will include, but is not limited to, departmental oversight of the clinics, ambulatory surgery center, radiology, rehab, providers, HR, and business operations. The person serving in this role will bring operational healthcare expertise to the organization that will sustain current success and grow Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics into the future.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Operations Management: Supports Partners

o Work directly with the Partners, providing strategic counsel and driving key company priorities.

o Prepare and present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services.

  • Operations Management: Streamlines and Maintains Standard Operations

o Develops and maintains effective organizational systems, including standard operating procedures, tracking, and communicating work in progress and leveraging technology to automate processes.

o Direct, plan, and implement policies, strategic objectives, and activities of the practice to ensure continuing operations and to increase productivity.

o Analyze operations to evaluate performance of the practice or its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.

  • Operations Management: Departmental Oversight

o Appoint department heads or managers and delegate responsibilities to them.

o Confer managers or staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.

o Implement corrective action plans to solve practice or departmental problems.

o Review reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or to suggest changes.

  • Business and Strategic Vision

o Support with the strategic direction of Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics, by researching and providing insight into industry trends to ensure Access is on the leading edge of care delivery.

o Support Partners with their strategic vision of Access.

  • Finance

o Direct or coordinate the organization's financial or budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency.

o Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding or implementation of programs.

o Coordinate the development or implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems, or other administrative control processes.

o Manage relationship with 3rd party finance vendor

o Evaluate effectiveness of vendor on pre-determined interval

  • Information Technology

o Manage relationship with 3rd party IT vendor

o Evaluate effectiveness of vendor on pre-determined interval

  • Human Resources

o Direct human resources activities, including the approval of human resource plans or activities, the selection of directors or other high-level staff, or establishment or organization of major departments.

o In partnership with the Partners, identify and develop future talent for leadership roles within the practice.

o Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments and sites.

  • Contract Management

o Negotiate or approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, federal or state agencies, or other organizational entities.

o Manage contracts, to ensure terms are being met for the duration of the contract.

  • Key Stakeholder Relationships

o Represents the practice with hospital and client site management teams. Utilizes a calm and gentle approach to ensure compliance and delivery expectations of services are provided.

o Serves as the primary liaison to all third party relationships.

  • Regulatory Requirements

o Ensure operations meet all local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

o Remain informed of trends in practice administration and healthcare regulations.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Sales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Psychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Masters Degree- Business or Healthcare, or equivalent years of experience
  • 5-10 years experience in healthcare practice leadership

o Orthopaedic practice preferred
