Join our team as a Gastronomy Instructor for Culinary and Pâtissierie Arts at Park City Culinary Institute!

Park City Culinary Institute is seeking a talented and dedicated Chef Instructor to join our team! As an instructor, you will bring your extensive experience, creativity, and passion for savory and sweet creations into the classroom, equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the culinary industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducting engaging, inspiring, and delightful interactive culinary classes, covering a wide range of topics in the savory culinary and French pastry arts.
  • Developing comprehensive lesson plans, course materials, and hands-on activities that cater to different learning styles, ensuring an immersive and enriching educational experience for students and assessments that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment, providing constructive feedback and guidance to students as they develop their culinary skills.
  • Demonstrating and instructing students on proper culinary techniques, presentation skills, and the use of specialized equipment.
  • Maintaining inventory, ordering all supplies, and managing food costs. 
  • Coordinate repair and maintenance, performing preventative maintenance and cleaning to keep our teaching kitchen and premises in tip-top shape.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized kitchen at all times. Adherence to food and safety sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to coordinate events, competitions, and culinary showcases to showcase students' culinary talents.
  • Collaborating to continuously enhance the curriculum, teaching methods, and overall student experience.
  • Participating in meetings, workshops, and professional development activities and applying what you learn.
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to students, offering career guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening class schedules. 
  • Must have reliable transportation (personal vehicle) to transport food & equipment to offsite events including in Park City during the winter.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in both savory and pastry arts, with fine dining preferred,
  • In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, flavor profiles, and industry trends.
  • Have a growth mindset, and be committed to always improving and learning.
  • Dedicated to growing and developing the next generation of innovative and inspiring chefs.
  • Excellent spoken, and written communication, with interpersonal skills to effectively engage and inspire students and the community. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, inspiring and motivating students to reach their full potential.
  • Technology savvy and comfortable with utilizing the Google and Microsoft suites.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving curriculum needs and the ability to contribute innovative ideas to enhance the program.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and deliver engaging and interactive culinary instruction.
  • An understanding of current industry trends and a commitment to staying updated on new pastry and savory cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Culinary certifications or degrees are preferred, but equivalent work experience will also be considered.
