Westerwood is actively seeking a full-time Executive Chef to add to our exceptional team and community.
This position is responsible for the proper preparation of the planned menu, overall coordination of food preparation, cooking and baking activities, ensuring the quality and nutritional value of foods prepared, and the overall supervision of all kitchen employees and kitchen sanitation.
Duties of this position include assisting the Director of Dining Services in planning, costing and executing all menus, scheduling and supervising of kitchen personnel, supervising production and sanitation in the kitchens, assisting in staff education to kitchen employees in accordance with the staff education program, providing on-the-job training of food preparation for kitchen employees, maintaining a high quality food service program for all residents, assisting in purchasing, inventory controls and maintaining minimum/maximum par levels, monitoring temperatures, and assisting the kitchen staff in all aspects of daily assignments as needed.
Qualified candidates will have college degree in nutrition or related field or have graduated from a culinary institution. This position also requires 3-5 years supervisory experience, 1 year with restaurant-style service, the proven ability to lead and train a diverse staff, and proven professional experience with strong working knowledge of food service equipment and its maintenance.
