PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Executive Chef is responsible for leading a team of culinary professionals that deliver high-quality, great tasting food; proper food safety and sanitation procedures and profitability. The Executive Chef contributes to building top line sales and outlet covers in the restaurant and in banquets through the delivery of a competitively superior culinary guest experience.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
EXPERIENCE: 3 Years of experience as Executive Sous Chef or Chef De Cuisine required in a luxury hotel environment. Previous experience as Executive Chef preferred.
CREDENTIALS: Culinary Degree is a plus
- Must ensure highest quality of all food prepared adhering to standards and recipes
- Must have culinary leadership experience in a hotel with a banquet program
- Must possess the ability and skills to create new menu items based on seasons, and keeping up with culinary trends while supervising their implementation
- Must be able to train, manage, and lead a team of culinary professionals
- Ensure high level of personal hygiene and grooming standards for the kitchen team
- Develop food cost and quality control measures and course correct as necessary
- Responsible for scheduling according to business levels while monitoring/authorizing overtime
- Purchase food, in cooperation with purchasing team focusing on highest quality and best pricing
- Must demonstrate an understanding of, and skills to use, kitchen facility, utility, equipment and kitchenware while maintaining and reporting damaged equipment
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
- Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
- Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Creative, effective leader and team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources management principles, communication, administrative skills and the ability to make sound and timely business decisions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime when needed
- Perform any other duties as assigned by manager
