Job Description
Job Summary:
The Excavator/Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment, such as excavators and loaders, to move, load, and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner. This role is essential for various tasks in construction, mining, and other industries requiring earthmoving and material handling. The Excavator/Loader Operator must follow safety protocols, maintain the equipment, and contribute to a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate excavators and loaders to perform tasks such as picking, loading, and unloading materials, following company procedures and safety guidelines.
2. Accurately read and interpret project specifications to determine the scope of work and required tasks.
3. Perform routine inspections of heavy equipment to identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
4. Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate and execute loading, and material handling tasks.
5. Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
6. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work site, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials and compliance with environmental regulations.
7. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient project progress.
8. Participate in training sessions and safety meetings to improve skills and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
9. Adjust work methods and equipment operation based on varying site conditions, weather, and other factors to ensure optimal performance.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid heavy equipment operator certification or ability to obtain one upon employment.
3. Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating excavators and loaders in a construction, mining, or related industry.
4. Basic understanding of safety practices and procedures related to heavy equipment operation.
5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
6. Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
7. Flexibility to work in different environments, including indoors and outdoors, and adapt to varying weather conditions.
8. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm
Pay rate: 24-26/hr
