Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Events, Donor Relations, and Stewardship Directorto work at our downtown headquarters office (hybrid). Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director EDRS implements strategies to support donor engagement, fundraising, and Stewardship while supporting the mission of PPLA. The Director will work collaboratively with teams within the department and across PPLA to successfully execute all donor cultivation and Stewardship strategies, publications, and virtual and in-person events. Planned Parenthood Los Angeles seeks a dynamic and results-oriented development professional to serve as an active and collaborative Director on the Events, Donor Relationsand Stewardship team. The Director will have the opportunity to serve a mission they are passionate about as they identify opportunities that engage, inform, recognize, and thank PPLA donors.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience, required.
    • A minimum of seven (7) years' experience in managing Donor Relationsand Stewardship programs, including special events and external communication pieces.
    • A minimum of three (3) years' experience supervising employees.
    • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser's Edge (or similar database) and WebEx or Zoom platforms. Graphic design experience a plus.
    • Experience working directly with donors and third party event partners and volunteers.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of development.
    • Strong commitment to the mission of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.
    • Organized and flexible project management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
    • Gratification in meeting deadlines and performance goals on multiple internal and external projects.
    • Possess top quality knowledge of production timelines, budgeting, and vendor and venue logistics for both in-person and virtual events.
    • Creativity in conceiving and production oversight of external donor stewardship communications
    • Naturally collaborative and communicative, with the ability to build strong and effective internal and external relationships.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with donors, board members, prospects, volunteers and other staff.
    • Firsthand experience in successful solicitation of event funds in-person and in writing.
    • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
    • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
    • Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.
    • If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, a valid CA driver's license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.

About the Position:
    • In partnership with the Chief Development Officer, set strategy and execute PPLA's stewardship and event programs to engage, inform, recognize and thank donors at all levels.
    • Lead on PPLA development in-person and virtual events, including but not limited to Friends By Choice Receptions, In Conversation series virtual events, State of the Agency, and donor house parties. Collaborate with senior staff members, development colleagues, and external partners to define event goals, programs, speakers, budgets, invitation list, timelines, and promotion.
    • Project manage all stewardship communications from start to finish; including collaborating with relevant internal teams and external vendors to produce stewardship publications and collateral materials such as the annual report, newsletters, impact reports, and acknowledgement letters.
    • Partner and assist with non-development events throughout PPLA at the request of the Chief Development Officer. This includes collaboration with departments across the agency to project manage promotional and education events.
    • Create, manage, and track Event, Donor Relationsand Stewardship expense and revenue budget.
    • Collaborate with and support Relationship Managers to develop strategic engagement plans designed to deepen relationships with donors and prospects.
    • Steward the Patrons lifetime giving recognition program and the Ann L. Nickoll Legacy Circle program.
    • Develop and/or maintain external relationships with donors, board members, volunteers groups, entertainment industry contacts, and civic organizations as assigned.
    • Evaluate the outcomes and effectiveness of Stewardship Programs, events, and/or recognition activities.
    • Identify and implement best practices to ensure that programs are in line with professional standards and meet Agency and donor expectations
    • Supervise the EDRS Sr. Manager and Manager.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Chief Development Officer.
