POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events Director role is a pivotal role in the growth and creation of non-sporting events including social events, corporate parties, trade shows, etc. at Iron Peak Sports & Events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Provide a best-in-class experience to event guests from start to finish (booking to event debrief)
- Schedule, staff, coordinate, and run non-sporting events including birthday parties, social events, team building events, corporate conferences, etc.
- Lead all on site events, prioritizing interacting with and assisting guests as needed
- Ensure all event details are executed as planned and tracked with detail - invoicing, payments, supplies, insurance, special requests, etc.
- Communicate clearly and timely with staff and clients to ensure proper setup, staffing, coordination of activities, and cleanup all events
- Adhere to event processes, procedures, curriculum, and standard
- Be knowledgeable in event packages and programs, support event marketing initiatives
- Coordinate with the General Manager to ensure accurate budget tracking
- Execute a sales & development KPI model within the team's CRM
- Coordinate with vendors and frequently vet/re-vet new and existing partnerships
- Optimize space to meet staffing, operational ease, and revenue maximization
- Complete additional task as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in sports, hospitality, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years minimum experience in event management and/or event sales
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent guest service skills and demeanor
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Must work well with others
- Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and venue
- Commitment to the safety and well-being of others
- Basic understanding of sports and event planning
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours) and regular attendance necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Will be required to operate a computer
- Facility has intermittent noise
