Position Title Event Services/Asset Relocation Assistant FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Full Time Hours Per Week 40 Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Start and end times flexible Grade 4 Minimum Compensation $32,886 General Responsibilities
Assist with the set-up and takedown of interior and exterior events for the college which includes but is not limited to banners, signs, furniture, tables and chairs, stages and equipment. Relocate assets as directed. Assists in the performance of moving furniture to and from various locations on campus as well as HCC's offsite campus such as Gateway and Laurel College Center.
Work Performed
Assist with the relocation of furniture, equipment and college assets for scheduled moves
Utilize work order software to complete work orders, log pertinent information, schedule activities and interact with requestors in real time .
Move tables and chairs from the storage to the various sites on and off campus to set up facility use events and then take down and return.
Perform periodic inventory and assessment of classroom and facility furniture.
Maintain furniture and seating arrangements in building lobbies, study areas, and stairwell landings.
Determine, suggest, and report furniture in need of repair or if it needs to be replaced.
Check and remove snow and ice from paved surfaces as directed (snow removal; essential personnel)
Acts in the role of essential personnel for emergencies.
Minimum Education Required High School or equivalent Minimum Number of Years Experience Required 2 Other Knowledge Required
A High School diploma or equivalent.
OSHA Safety Regulations.
One year's experience in venue/multi-purpose space set ups and furniture moving preferably at a college or university.
Working Conditions
Must be able to lift 75lbs. 12 inches off the ground and place on flat bed cart; lift 40lbs. floor to overhead; lift 50lbs. and walk ten feet
Work inside and out in extremes of temperature, humidity and inclement weather.
Work in high places on ladders.
Work schedule is 5 days, Monday - Friday.
Must adhere to all safety standards as established by the Facilities Services
Many facets of job require physical strength and stamina to perform heavy tasks for long periods of time.
Work overtime as required.

As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.
