Event Security Guard Job Summary: The Event Security Guard, as directed by the Social Events
Manager, provides safety and guidance to Glynwood’s guests during weddings and events. The job
consists of evening work as needed from May-October. The approximate hours are Friday 6-11pm,
Saturday 7pm - 2am and occasional weekdays.
Essential Job Duties:The Guard is responsible for securing the premises, preventing access by
unauthorized individuals, directing guests, responding to security/fire alarms, and maintaining incident
reports as well as the following duties:
- Welcome guests and vendors in a warm, gracious manner inviting them into the location
- Oversee the event operations to ensure guest safety
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
- Monitor lake and ensure no guests are swimming after hours
- Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized
- Identify and warn violators of rule infractions, such as smoking or carrying forbidden articles
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits of the event
- Investigate and prepares reports on accidents or incidents
- Liaison with local law enforcement if needed
- Guide customers to their accommodations or event locations
- Anticipate and answer customer inquiries, such as taxi services, train schedule, etc
- Facilitate various guest services, including transportation and area attraction inquiries.
- Troubleshoot customer issues, concerns, or complaints; relay pertinent information to Event
- Ensure the event site is clean and professional at the end of the evening
- Assist with basic first aid if needed

The physical requirements for this position include:
- Lift and move materials up to 70 lbs

Required Education
- High school diploma
- NY State Unarmed Security License
Compensation: $30 per hour
