Event Planner

Job Overview:

This is a contract position. We are planning some PR events for the city of Chicago and need help planning and executing a few events. You must have a decent grasp and following on social media. We prefer creatives and those in the makers space arena and content developers.

The overall project will involved a one day and a subsequent follow up planning event.

If you have or can work with a media person to cut up video for social media it will be a bonus.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Event Planner to join our team. As an Event Planner, you will be responsible for organizing and executing a wide range of events, ensuring their success from start to finish. This is a dynamic role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Duties:
- Plan and coordinate various types of events, including weddings, corporate conferences, fundraisers, and social gatherings
- Collaborate with clients to understand their event objectives and requirements
- Develop event concepts and themes that align with client preferences
- Create detailed event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and vendor recommendations
- Secure venues, caterers, entertainment, and other necessary services for events
- Manage event logistics, such as guest lists, seating arrangements, transportation, and accommodations
- Oversee event setup and teardown to ensure everything runs smoothly
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services and products
- Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during events
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the planning process
