Event Coordinator Intern

Event Coordinator Intern Reports to: Director of Events

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of the LHMCO and the portfolio companies.
  • Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.
  • Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies.

Primary Duties:

We are looking for a dynamic intern who is eager to learn about our company by assisting the Corporate Affairs Team. Under general supervision of the Director of Events, you will work in a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Corporate Affairs Team. Your assignments will make a positive contribution to the Larry H. Miller Company as well as provide opportunities to gain “hands on” work experience with the intent of training for the potential of starting a successful career after graduation.

This is an internship at the Larry H. Miller Company’s Sandy, UT location. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week while also enrolled in school. This internship is not eligible for the employee benefits regular company employees are entitled to. Candidates must be able to commute to Sandy, UT.

Internship Details:

  • 4 months projected duration
  • $22 hourly
  • Part-time
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college with majors including but not limited to event management, advertising, public relations, marketing, and political science preferred.
  • Must be able to commute to Sandy, UT office.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with appropriate individuals to develop and monitor timelines related to all aspects of events and campaigns, ensuring the information is communicated with staff, volunteers, contractors, and other contributors.
  • Consistently demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Contribute to event pre-planning, onsite execution and post-event wrap up.
  • Attend and manage booths at sponsored community events, i.e., summits, golf events, thought leadership opportunities, and charities events.
  • Provide support with administrative duties.
  • Maintain ability to handle job stress and effective interaction with others in the workplace.
  • May assist with public relations, government affairs, and marketing tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in an office setting.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds when setting up event booth space
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.
  • To perform other duties as required.
