Job DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Dean of Students, the Security Guard works to protect students, teachers, and school property, promoting and providing a safe environment for the entire Saint Mary's community. All activities are directed towards the well-being and safety of students, the enforcement of school rules and procedures, and the security of people and property. Taking initiative and paying attention to detail are requirements for success in this position.
The Security Guard will perform other job-related duties as required or assigned by supervisors. Duties include:Patrolling and securing the campus, including gates, buildings, parking lotsMonitor CCTV camera footageProtect the school's property and assets from theft, fire, and other safety issuesNotify maintenance and facilities about damage to property for correctionRespond immediately to alarms and emergenciesCommunicate any irregularities at the school to administrationKeep the incident report factual and currentFollow procedures for various initiatives including fire prevention, traffic control and investigationsCheck and escort visitors in and out of school and around premisesSupervise students on campus, especially in large events and gatheringsIdentify areas of concern on campus for student and teacher safety and implement solutionsEscort students Job Requirements:Knowledge of standard security and safety protocolsExcellent verbal communication skillsAbility to work well in a teamQuick thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work in high-pressure environmentsAbility to work proactively and use intuitionAbility to remain alert and aware of surroundingsCreate professional boundaries between students and self Additional Information:Minimum high school diplomaSafe Environment Training complete and currentIVP Fingerprint Clearance Card40 hours per weekOccasional weekends and evenings
