Job Description
This is a rare opportunity for someone with a construction/engineering background to be in an important role as part of a high-performing team with visibility to the owner on a daily basis. Work on a variety of demolition projects in a multi-faceted role combining job estimating, project management, along with business development. You will interact with leadership, crew in the field, other contractors, along with prospects and an existing customer base. Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare detailed proposal specifications and schedule, and coordinate concept drawings that accurately portray the scope of work and requirements of the project for presentation to the owner.
Use knowledge, strong attention to detail and follow-up skills to solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and organize, review and complete detailed scopes of work and cost comparisons for each.
Manage all aspects of the bidding process on estimates.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the bidding process.
After submission of the contract proposal, engage the customer in discussions to answer questions and gain feedback regarding scope and pricing relative to customer's budget or competing proposals.
Continually identify and develop relationships with strategic targets to generate new business opportunities.
Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
Other duties may be assigned based on needs across the company.
Travel to jobsites required.
Skills and Abilities
Must have a high level of competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
Ability to do moderate math equations, understand financial concepts, and interpret computerized cost data and systems, purchase orders, contracts, and other construction documents.
Proficiency in using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of construction software such as Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, grammatical, and prioritization/time-management skills.
Ability to work independently while also possessing a strong team orientation, positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills.
Ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work requests.
Education
BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management/ Technology, or related field. Construction estimating experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
