Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an ESG Reporting Lead to join our growing Philanthropy, Sustainability & Equality (PS&E) team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, PS&E Initiatives, this role will act as the subject matter expert in ESG-related reporting regulations, frameworks, and disclosures; it will lead the External Reporting initiatives at the global level. This role is instrumental for the organization to disclose effectively, receive positive ESG scores, meet stakeholder expectations, and communicate effectively with our customers.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Stay educated on the regulatory landscape around ESG matters impacting our business
    • Liaise with outside legal counsel on regulation interpretation as needed
  • Assist in the development of the company's annual Philanthropy, Sustainability, and Equality Report and/or information within the Annual Report as required by regulations
    • Develop timelines for completion, review, and approvals
    • Work with individuals throughout the organization to collect relevant information
    • Design oversight
  • Gap analysis of Crane's current reporting against requirements of regulations and referenced frameworks for identification of new reporting metrics
  • Benchmark against customer and peer company disclosures to understand the landscape and our performance
  • Work with external rating agencies such as ISS, Sustainalytics, and MSCI to ensure Crane is getting credit for all disclosures, completing feedback forms where necessary to update disclosure references
  • Take the lead on the completion of the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment
  • Responsible for the completion of any External Reporting the company chooses to do
    • Although not currently participating, this may include the CDP Climate Questionnaire, Ecovadis supplier survey, reporting in alignment with the TCFD framework, etc.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for BU questions around responses to customer surveys
    • Review responses to ensure consistent messaging across the organization
  • Establish reporting policies as needed over time
  • Aid in website maintenance and content refreshing
  • Assist the legal department with additional projects as needed

Required Skills:
  • Proficient with the Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to digest and interpret legal documents and regulations
  • Project Management
    • Drawing inputs from multiple parties and consolidating information
    • Working with outside vendors to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Exceptional organizational abilities

Qualifications:
  • A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited College or University
    • Degree in business, environmental studies, sustainability management, or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years' work experience in relevant roles
  • Experience with CDP, EcoVadis, SBTI, and TCFD reporting is a plus
  • Able to work independently
