Highly Regarded Title Agency seeks a dependable and professional Escrow Associate with at least two (2) years of experience. The successful candidate will understand escrow standards, title clearance, real estate regulations and guidelines, and document preparation. S/he must be a Notary Republic or be bondable. This position performs advanced duties related to all facets of escrow processing. Therefore, our Escrow Officer must have excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to exercise independent judgments during the escrow process. This individual must be customer-focused and must take initiative to maintain and/or build a book of business. S/he is expected to be a respectful team player while working with the members of the escrow unit and the various other departments.
Typical Job Tasks: Prepares Closing Disclosure statement for real estate closings; Prepares disbursements and escrows for real estate closings; reviews title reports; obtains documents necessary to clear title; pay and secures releases for liens; Travels to banks and real estate broker offices to conduct signing ceremonies for real estate closings; records documents in the public records office; Manages files and closing schedule; and corresponds with customers, real estate agents and lenders about upcoming closings.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required, college degree preferred
- Ability to pass background check
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Proven success with self-managing and working independently, multi-tasking, prioritizing and meeting deadlines consistently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adapt to changing priorities and remain focused, and calm under pressure
- 2 years of title & escrow experience required
- Qualia experience strongly preferred
- Current Notary commission preferred, but not required
- Experience with residential, investor and commercial transactions preferred.
Your Responsibilities
- Ability to perform all tasks of an Escrow Assistant or Jr. Escrow Officer (answering customers questions / calls regarding closing status, coordinating closing time & location, ordering payoffs, surveys, home warranties, HOA documents, CDA’s, sending seller / buyer pre-closing info forms, balance CD’s, Closing Statements, prepare closing affidavits, obtain lender funding approval, etc.)
- Prepare and ship lender closing packages
- Receipt and coordinate escrowed funds
- Prepare and submit documents for recording in electronic and manual recorded counties
- Mail out document copies, recordable documents, policies and checks
- Organize and pre-audit records per state Department of Insurance requirements
- Order opening
- Perform other duties as assigned
