Description
The Equipment Operator/Truck Driver safely operates and maintains trucks and equipment used in the upkeep of county roads. This position also performs manual labor as assigned. Adhering to safety rules and regulations is of high importance in this role.

- Operates a variety of trucks and equipment to perform required road maintenance duties
- Transports materials, vehicles, and equipment to job sites
- Repairs and maintains surfaces through activities such as patching asphalt and sealing cracks in pavement
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance on trucks and equipment; reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair
- Performs manual labor activities, including snow and debris removal, snow fence maintenance, foliage maintenance, and others as assigned
- Adheres to safety rules and regulations on all work sites, reports safety hazards and traffic problems
- Acts in the interest of public safety and personal property protection during emergencies
- Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.
Typical Qualifications
Education, Experience and License/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND one (1) year of related work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Supplemental Information
Special Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather
- Work is performed in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment
- Emergency on-call work is required
Compensation:Starting Salary ranges from $36.00-$38.00/hour depending on experience and training.
