Position Overview:
As a Dirt Work and Construction Equipment Operator, you will operate heavy machinery as well as use other tools to perform a variety of jobs including construction, excavation, grading, and earthmoving. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and safely. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a range of construction equipment and possess a strong work ethic with a focus on quality and safety. A Class A CDL and experience hauling machinery and materials is a Plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and compactors to perform earthmoving and grading tasks.
- Work productively alone or as part of a team using mechanical or manual means to efficiently complete quality work.
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions to accurately complete excavation and site preparation activities.
- Safely maneuver equipment on construction sites, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities and optimize project efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of equipment and materials.
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, communicating any delays or challenges to the project team.
- Uphold company standards for quality workmanship, productivity, and safety at all times.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar environment.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of construction machinery, including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and skid steers.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, techniques, and safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Class A CDL a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
