Equipment Engineering Manager Plastics Manufacturer

Position Summary
Work in partnership with all Ensinger team members, enabling the facility to safely meet production goals, at targeted cost levels, while meeting customer expectations for quality and delivery.
Serve in a pivotal role on the operations team, directing the advancement of manufacturing equipment design and implementation using the latest available technologies.
Apply knowledge and experience in electrical, robotic and mechanical disciplines providing holistic solutions automating and inter-connecting equipment using Industry 4.0 strategies.
Partner with engineering, operations, maintenance and equipment manufacturers to drive automation improvements, equipment upgrades and support in a multi-discipline approach.
Provide leadership to the controls system engineer, maintenance supervisor and indirectly the maintenance team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Analyze and recommend changes to equipment and processes for improvements in performance and cost reduction.
Develop control solutions to resolve process control issues and enhance manufacturing processes in collaboration with process/manufacturing engineers.
Work with facility personnel to implement safety improvements and SOPs for new and existing equipment and installations.
Prepare drawings and documentation and supervise Equipment Engineering projects/installations.
Manage building automation systems, developing and documenting new PLC control systems from concept to qualification (Siemens programming a plus).
Work with vendors and IT personnel to provide a communication network between equipment, business solutions software and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) while providing troubleshooting access to all computerized manufacturing equipment.
Work with maintenance team to support factory power systems.
Lead future power system upgrades and facility expansion projects.
Provide technical troubleshooting assistance to maintenance staff.
Conduct Risk Assessment evaluations.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
3 years experience working with production equipment in an engineering capacity
5 years successful managerial and supervisory experience
Proven ability to instill accountability and manage performance based on key metrics
Advanced PLC and HMI Programming experience with networked based communications in Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus DP, Profinet, OPC/UA protocols
PLC programming (Siemens a plus), Advance motor control, Scada systems integration along with 2d and 3d CAD capabilities
Experience with both VFD and Servo motor drive platforms
Skilled in 2D and 3D CAD software and able to develop both mechanical and electrical drawings with minimal supervision. Experience with mechanical design of industrial equipment a plus
