THE JOB
This is a Furnace & Casting Equipment Engineer position. As a Furnace & Casting Equipment Engineer your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Optimization of process equipment for improving quality and capacity
- Solve equipment and process problems for Arconic Casthouse Processes
- Drive resolution of chronic problems within area of expertise; Lead problem solving teams & organize support from other resources when necessary
- Develop and deploy Standard Practices for the casthouse processes, assist in identifying improvement opportunities, and facilitate technology transfer
- Maintain a working relationship with vendors of casting and furnace equipment and be knowledgeable of external developments
- Provide engineering and operational support for large capital improvement projects
- Sponsor, participate, and occasionally lead development projects
- Be relied upon by plant resources for advice and direction on capital and process solutions
- Participate in technical assessments of facilities and individual pieces of equipment
- Lead the corporate Refractory Task Force team
- Support major customer- All locations with casthouse
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Furnace & Casting Equipment Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Furnace & Casting Equipment Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Five (5) years of experience utilizing mechanical engineering principles in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in equipment and processing in the area of Aluminum Casting Equipment and furnaces, including refractory
- Ability to travel to worldwide across facilities.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum Experience: 3 years of Java Developer experience
