Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role is responsible to maintain inventory of semi-trailers, maintain maintenance schedule, transport trailers to/from distribution center to designated locations, ensure availability of trailers as needed for drivers, etc.
Here's what you'll do:

  • Responsible for maintaining semi-trailer inventory including export containers across a multi-state area; perform daily trailer inventory and verify locations of each trailer.
  • Work with drivers, repair/maintenance vendor, etc. to account for each trailer.
  • Schedule and coordinate the preventative, routine and corrective maintenance for trailers, work with assigned vendors both locally and within multi-state area as necessary.
  • Ensure timely delivery of trailers to appropriate maintenance vendor (oversee drivers' delivery/pickup or deliver/pickup trailers).
  • Assist with semi-tractor maintenance schedules as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with Company safety policies as well as legal compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Schedule return of supply chain pallets from various pickups/deliveries to vendor's warehouse as appropriate.
  • Assist with basic maintenance and minor repairs (i.e. glad hands, lights, crank handles) as required.
  • Assist with maintaining and tracking rental tractors and other equipment.
  • Responsible to maintain proper levels of diesel fuel and related supplies (i.e., spill kits, hoses, etc.).
  • Track and audit fuel usage by monitoring electronic system reports and tank gauge and order diesel fuel accordingly.
  • May be required to assist with reviewing invoicing for accuracy.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Here's what you'll need:
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Three years transportation experience to include driving, dispatching, etc.
  • Two years prior commercial driving experience required.
  • Must have valid Commercial Drivers License / Class A and good driving record.
  • Must be able to operate trailer landing gear and move converter dolly.
  • Must pass a DOT physical examination and subject to periodic random alcohol and drug tests.

  • The associate is frequently required to sit/stand/walk, and use hands to handle, grasp, and operate equipment or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of tractor and trailer often.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to an office environment and/or distribution/transportation setting and is exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment varies; office setting may be low to moderate; distribution center/transportation setting may be moderate to high.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
