Qualifications:

Hours: A shift (flexible with hours) could be 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm (8 hour day) Monday-Friday.

Summary:

Will do day to day support. Mostly doing quite a bit of testing and fixing controls PLC’s. Maybe some PC programming. Help troubleshooting systems and PLC code. Working with the planning team to support them with company standard topics that they may have questions about. They would be trained and go through standard company training for this department. They would be put with a mentor for the first few months until they were confident to work independently. They would support small projects as well. Need to have the mindset to plan and execute a job if necessary. Coordinate activities and timing for the projects. Siemens PLC experience is preferred but not required. Siemens is what is currently used by this team. If a candidate has Allen Bradley, Rockwell or Mitsubishi PLC experience that is okay.

Must have: Must have PLC programming experience (Either with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or Mitsubishi). If they have Python and C++ experience would also consider them.

Nice to have: Siemens PLC experience is preferred. Someone who can troubleshoot an electrical circuit and understand industrial electronics would also be preferred.

Equipment & Controls Planning Engineer

Position Purpose/Scope: What are the key objectives of the position?

Provides project planning, installation, start-up and acceptance, as well as engineering support of new installations and optimization measures of the conveyor and equipment technology in Assembly.

Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the positions key objectives.

• Engineers the Controls Planning of technical equipment as delegated by the CLIENT MC Section Manager.
• Evaluates concept evaluations with technical and financial focus for new facility and process equipment.
• Provides Project oriented planning and realization of measures in collaboration with the internal customer as well as external suppliers.
• Finds the optimum solutions regarding costs, quality, ergonomics, technical innovation and environment.
• Confers with management, engineering and other staff supporting structural capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Provides cost estimation (Invest, Budget), technical specification and request for quotes.
• Evaluates, coordinates and compiles bidder circle, call for bids, offers evaluation, recommendation for the award of contract, acceptance of the equipment from the suppliers and handing over to the operator as delegated by the CLIENT MC Section Manager.
• Develops and implements equipment countermeasures to improve equipment reliability. Ensures all equipment design is capable of required uptime.
• Ensures all assigned countermeasures are developed on schedule and effective countermeasures.
• Ensures all assigned projects are on schedule and at/or under approved budget. Performs other duties as assigned by CLIENT MC Operations Supervisor. III. Position

Competencies:

• Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred) or
• the equivalent of 4 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience: 3 years of experience in an engineering environment (automotive process or automotive). 3 years of Project Management experience in several equipment and/or Controls Planning projects as well as structural modification.
• Training: As applicable, per CLIENT MC training guidelines.
• Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $43.00 - $50.00 per hour
