The California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the State. In support of this mission, the Executive Office (EO) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of CARB, the Divisions within CARB, and the staff within those divisions.

The Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office administers, educates, and enforces the requirements of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act, California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Unruh-Ralph Act, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Dymally-Alatorre Act. This office also maintains an effective EEO Program to ensure the workplace is free from discrimination and harassment.

Under the supervision of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs technical and analytical duties as they pertain to the EEO program. The incumbent serves as an EEO Analyst by understanding laws and regulations when coordinating and maintaining the following programs or tasks: Bilingual Services, Competitive Rating Reports, Employee Exit Questionnaires, Limited Examination & Appointment Program (LEAP), Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Upward Mobility, and Wellness. The incumbent will also maintain administrative policies and procedures as they relate to these programs. The incumbent will participate and represent CARB on the CARB/CalEPA Disability Advisory Committee and State Disability Advisory Council (SDAC) and any other EEO-related committee meetings. The incumbent should have an understanding of EEO laws, investigation techniques, and problem-solving skills; analytical and writing skills; a respect for handling confidential materials and conversations; and the ability to gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted during the course of work.

Working Conditions

The positions at the CARB may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of hybrid telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location at their own expense, as indicated on their duty statement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $3,640.00 - $5,916.00 per month
