Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) is seeking a Data and Analytics Junior Developer (Epic EHR) in our Concord Administrative Office. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week. SUMMARY
The Data and Analytics Junior Developer reports to the VP of IT. They collaborate with the EHR team, the Clinical Operations leadership and team to write Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, analyze data, develop dashboards, and participate in fulfilling operational and ad-hoc data requests. The Data and Analytics Junior Developer will ensure the accuracy, reliability, dependability, and quality of data outputs, visualizations, and informatics to facilitate decision making processes. Working with cross-functional teams, the Data and Analytics Junior Developer participates in review of current workflows and informational goals and will properly translate them into quality analytics solutions that will meet clinical needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborates with Clinical Operations and the EHR team to develop detailed requirement specifications and estimated work effort, including but not limited to productivity metrics and visualization, medical record documentation audit queries, and clinical quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Supports the Data and Analytics Senior Developer in managing the SQL Server platform storing Personal Health Information, Clarity databases, and data marts supporting the Tableau platform.
- Supports the Data and Analytics Senior Developer in managing the ETL and Stored Procedures for automated jobs.
- Troubleshoots and problem-solving of reporting and Analytics tools.
- Conceptualize, design, and conduct new processes for internal and external data customer by data visualization and reporting.
- Independently fulfilling reporting and analytical requests from end users
- Displays creativity and critical thinking in solving problems and ability to quickly comprehend new processes.
- Managing assigned tasks related to reporting, data, and Analytics issues, maintaining a high standard of service for all end user requests.
- Provides updates for and participates as needed in weekly status calls with customers that include review of requests processed, pending requests, and issues resolved.
- Set up standardized self-serve and subscription-based clinical reporting to support clinical and operational leaders' oversight.
- Conceptualize, design, and conduct new processes for internal and external data customer by data visualization and reporting.
- Deliver accurate and complete information under strict deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or 4 years equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 to 2+ years experience with SQL and knowledge of relational databases, data warehouses, and data management principles.
- 1+ year of working with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau/RStudio).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of Health care Operations or Informatics (clinical, business, or education)
- 3+ years of SQL in Healthcare industry
- 1+ year of Business Intelligence tools (Tableau/RStudio)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong technical skills including PC and Microsoft Office Suite, and intermediate level skills in Excel.

Pay Range: Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) supports California’s new law (SB 1162) enhancing pay transparency. This new law requires employers with 15 or more employees to include a pay range in job postings. The pay range reflects the compensation that a new employee can expect to receive if offered employment. Employees with more experience, education, and other qualifying factors may be compensated at a higher rate of pay. The pay range for this position is: $95,000 - $100,000 annualized salary.
