Roles & Responsibilities
- Migration of the client-server systems environment for Epic software such as Interconnect, Hyperspace, EPS, Web BLOB, Hyperspace Web, BCA, System Pulse, Kuiper, and other Epic Windows based applications to Azure Cloud.
- Monitoring system performance, interpreting metrics, and troubleshooting issues as they arise before user-impact occurs.
- Reviewing related Nova notes and planning and executing appropriate actions before deploying Epic upgrades and updates.
- Participation in cross-team efforts to resolve technical issues, chronic problems, and technology integration challenges throughout the health system.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining the procedures, processes, and technology necessary to appropriately manage Epic deployment for large multi-hospital enterprise.
- Analyzing and reporting on key metrics required for capacity planning and performance management of critical servers and applications.
- Leading efforts to evaluate current systems and processes and propose strategic options and improvements.
- Working with project managers, architects, business analysts and other team members to define metrics and performance goals for the application.
- Provide support after hours when needed, participate in on-call rotation.
- Ten years combined experience in Epic Client System Management and Microsoft Server System Administration
- The following certifications: Hyperspace (ECSA 101); Web Blob, Business Continuity Access, Epic Print Services (ECSA 102); Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, System Pulse (ECSA 105); MyChart, MyChart Mobile, EpicCare-Link (ECSA 110); Care Everywhere (ECSA 115)
- Expertise working with servers in a physical, virtual, and cloud environments including migrating workloads between platforms
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) administration
- Knowledge of networking concepts (load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS)
- Sound customer service skills across all levels within an organization with an ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users
- Ability to organize and plan work independently in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITIL and ITSM) is a plus
- Understanding of operations in a regulated industry preferably with experience address system requirements for Protected Health Information (PHI), or Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
