Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Epic Ambulatory Analyst to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic Ambulatory Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and effective use of EHR technology in our healthcare organization, enhancing patient care, and supporting clinical workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
EHR Implementation: Lead and support the implementation of Epic Ambulatory EHR system, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals, clinical processes, and regulatory requirements.
System Configuration: Configure and customize the Epic Ambulatory system to meet the specific needs of healthcare providers, clinics, and medical staff.
Training and Support: Provide training to end-users, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing the EHR system. Offer ongoing support and assistance to resolve issues and answer user queries.
System Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize the Epic Ambulatory system to improve workflow efficiency, enhance data accuracy, and promote meaningful use of the EHR.
Data Management: Manage patient data, clinical documentation, and health information within the EHR system. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain reports and analytics within the EHR system to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
Interoperability: Collaborate with other healthcare IT professionals to ensure seamless integration with other systems, including laboratory information systems, billing software, and HIEs (Health Information Exchanges).
Compliance: Stay updated on healthcare regulations and requirements, ensuring the Epic Ambulatory system remains compliant and assists in achieving Meaningful Use objectives.
User Feedback: Gather user feedback and suggestions for system improvements, enhancements, and functionality changes.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, workflows, and support procedures.
Project Management: Assist in project planning and management for EHR-related initiatives, including system upgrades, module additions, and enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Health Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Epic Ambulatory certification is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in implementing and supporting Epic Ambulatory EHR systems.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare IT standards, clinical workflows, and EHR best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of other Epic modules and their integration with Epic Ambulatory (e.g., EpicCare, MyChart, Willow, Cadence).
- Experience with other EHR systems or healthcare software applications.
- Project management skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare compliance regulations.
