JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is seeking an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Policy Analyst to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Nuclear Enterprise Directorate. This position would specifically support the Nuclear Strategy Division, a dynamic and growing organization within the Nuclear Enterprise. We are looking for a person to:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) area. Requires extensive EOD experience in planning, coordinating, and executing senior leader level oversight.
- Provide support preparing and conducting symposia, workshops, meetings, and conferences.
- Provide administrative oversight to support the EOD Steering Group for Nuclear Weapons chair.
- Provide administrative support for explosive ordnance disposal related studies, evaluations, and inspections.
- Updating and revising explosive ordnance disposal specified and implied tasks in US Government nuclear weapon recapture and recovery directives, plans, and other authoritative documents.
- Coordinates and conducts EOD related nuclear weapons incident response training and exercises to custodial and other incident response units.
- Prepare senior leaders for strategic engagements; attend forums/meetings as required and prepare briefing materials, papers, program plans, and other material.
- Provide technical review of policy documents; assist in the development and execution of studies and assessments.
- Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
- Experience with nuclear deterrence, national nuclear policy and doctrine
- Experience with United States Strategic Command, Joint Staff, Air Staff, DOE/NNSA laboratories, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense processes and organization
- Clearance: Top Secret, able to obtain SCI
