A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Laboratory Technician role on-site at Intalco Aluminum facility in Ferndale, WA. Laboratory Technicians are responsible for performing tasks in support of the plant's quality and environmental test programs. These tasks will be performed under the direction of the plant's environmental team and in conjunction with Montrose's / Enthalpy Analytical laboratory management.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Daily monitoring of water sampling stations
  • Collection of samples in accordance with NPDES permit
  • Preparation of samples for analysis
  • Preparation of reagents for lab use
  • Operation of water treatment plant for drinking water (including future earning of a WTPO 1 certification)
  • Operation of wastewater treatment facilities (including future earning of a WWTP 1 certification)
  • Daily checks on analytical equipment
  • Cleaning of laboratory glassware
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Assist with compliance of regulations by contractors on site during work
  • Compiling of data for reports to government agencies
  • Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Enthalpy's and Intalco's Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by Intalco Environmental Management or Montrose team members

YOUR EXPERTISE & SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
  • Current WTPO 1 or WWTP 1 certifications a plus
  • Previous wet chemistry lab experience a plus

Preferred Skills
  • Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
  • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills

Critical Requirements
  • Ability to work independently, exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to lift equipment over 20 Ibs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
