Your Opportunity
Stantec is currently seeking an Environmental Technician to provide as-needed support on a project basis, assisting with photography, data collection, and analysis for a variety of projects.
Our team provides NEPA and Section 106 analysis, technical studies, and project permitting for a wide variety of private and federal, state, and local government clients in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and the surrounding region.
This position requires the ability to work outdoors in remote locations and for short periods under all weather conditions, demonstrating awareness for workplace safety; and the ability to work independently with supervision when conditions are appropriate. Additionally, this job requires office-based tasks that require the use of a computer workstation.
Your Key Responsibilities- Perform fieldwork tasks including photographing resources and using mobile tablets for data collection
- Provide support for field teams by organizing logistics for field teams
- Provide support for Project Managers by completing technical reports and deliverables
- Perform office-based tasks including data entry and data collection
- Participate in maintaining Stantec's safety culture
- Able to work independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team with cultural resource and environmental professionals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional MS Office skills
- Basic understanding of technical writing skills
- Willing and able to travel to meet project needs
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
Associate degree or technical diploma/certificate in a related program with 2-3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
Some coursework in natural resources or related degree, and/or prior field documentation experience preferred
This position works both in field and office settings. Fieldwork may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather, remote locations, summer heat, and rough terrain; as well as bending, stooping, carrying field equipment, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
