MPS Group Inc. has a position open at the FCA Warren Truck Plant for an Environmental Technician who will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport to the appropriate disposal container or storage room.
- Segregate, sort and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements
- Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal site.
- Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
- Clean/maintain organization and compliance of 90-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, labeling drums.
- Assist Supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
- Assist Supervisor with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
- Perform weekly inspections of waste storage areas, spill response kits, and storm drain pathways taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection.
- Perform daily walk-throughs and waste response actions of designated production and non-production areas including collection points of all waste streams the plant generates.
- Document and inform Supervisor of any contamination in plant’s garbage, recycling and various other waste containers.
- Maintain/complete necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
- Operate fork truck to move waste and to load/unload trucks.
- Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
- Other tasks assigned by manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Able to report to work on a daily basis for 40 hours a week with own vehicle or the ability to get to work on time.
- Experience working in an automotive assembly environment a plus.
- Must have Forklift Experience
PREFERRED TRAINING:
- Training will be mixed structured and on-site job training for the tasks at hand.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education
- 40-hour HAZWOPER a plus
- Upon acceptance of this position a one-week, in-house paid training will be provided before assignment to the site.
