The Team and Job Summary

 

We are seeking a Environmental Scientist III to join our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) team based in State of Texas. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the EH&S team, whose responsibilities will encompass both toxicology and project management. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of toxicology, they should also have a curious mind, be a strategic thinker, and have the flexibility to take on a variety of tasks.

 

This early to mid-career level scientist performs project management and professional environmental and health-related consulting services for a wide range of clients, including legal and insurance firms. Our experts provide expertise in multiple areas, including but not limited to, exposure to asbestos, talc, diacetyl, solvents, and many chemicals. The work requires a professional knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of toxicology/risk assessment, exposure assessment, industrial hygiene/exposure science, occupational safety, and a desire to apply multi-disciplinary approaches (e.g., chemistry, biological sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health) to research projects involving potential effects from exposure to different materials, chemicals, or biological agents. We are seeking a candidate with an M.S. in toxicology and approximately 10 years of experience in health sciences and project management.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support and manage toxicology projects under the guidance of a Toxicology Technical Fellow and a Senior Project Manager
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure application of toxicological and exposure science principles to address issues relating to human health and risk
  • Research, critically evaluate, and summarize scientific literature and data
  • Contribute to or lead writing of scientific reports, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Maintain client relationships
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Interest in PMP designation, DABT, CIH, CSP, or another professional licensure.

 

Required Qualifications

M.S. or M.P.H. in Toxicology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Toxicology, Industrial Hygiene, Biochemistry, or related field is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, training, or education in toxicology, mathematics, epidemiology, chemistry, biostatistics, industrial hygiene, and/or risk assessment is preferred.

 

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

This is a full-time salaried position in the State of Texas. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require rapid response out of normal business hours and weekend work. Local travel during the business day (e.g., for library research) and some out-of-town travel may be required.
