Responsibilities
  • What You'll Do
    • The Environmental Representative directs the Red Hill environmental compliance program throughout the project lifecycle to ensure protection of natural and environmental resources within the project boundaries while also maintaining compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to the environment, including water, air, solid waste, hazardous waste and substances, oily substances, and noise pollution.
    • This position ensures contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, as well as adhering to requirements contained within the project specification and Corporate EHS directives. The Environmental Representative additionally oversees the project’s environmental program, performs routine and special compliance inspections of the project site, ensure subcontractor compliance, tracks deficiencies and corrections, make recommendations to project management, maintains project environmental records and act as liaison with USG agencies.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform work in a manner that conforms to objectives and targets of the environmental programs and operational controls identified by the Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
    • Support Government personnel when environmental compliance and EMS audits, are conducted by escorting auditors at the Project site, answering questions, and providing proof of records being maintained.
    • Provide monitoring and measurement information as necessary to address environmental performance relative to environmental, energy, and transportation management goals.
    • In the event an EMS nonconformance or environmental noncompliance associated with the contracted services, tasks, or actions occurs, take corrective and preventative actions.
    • Retain training documentation associated environmental compliance records.
    • Ensure the Environmental Compliance Program complies with all applicable environmental rules and regulations so as to not receive any Notice of Violation (NOV) from any federal, state, or local authorities concerning service provider-maintained systems or equipment.
    • Develops and monitors environmental programs to comply with Federal, State, and military requirements.
    • Act as liaison with representatives of Installation Environmental, and other government organizations.
    • Provides a Management System that supports the installation's Environmental Plan that complies with all Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.
    • Advises Program leadership on environmental compliance policies and procedures, notifying as required base activities involving environmental impacts, reporting environmental emergencies.
    • Monitor the environmental budget.
    • Prepare and submit purchase requests in support of the environmental program
    • May be required to work a flexible work schedule and alternating workdays to meet mission and customer requirements.
    • Other assigned duties as needed to accomplish the mission

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical Science discipline (e.g., Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) or similar field desired.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with environmental management.
    • Overseas, Military, DOD Contracting, and/or Construction experience is a plus.
  • Certificates/Licenses:
    • Successful completion of ECATTS Training.
    • Program-Specific Requirements: HAZWOPER Certification and RCRA Certification preferred.
    • Program-Specific Requirements: HAZWOPER Certification and RCRA Certification preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Basic familiarity with RCRA Hazardous Waste and Sediment and StormWater construction.
    • Valid State Driver's License
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a HAZWOPER certification.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a RCRA certification.
    • May be required to work a flexible work schedule and alternating workdays to meet mission and customer requirements.
  • Skills:
    • Must be customer oriented and have proven leadership experience.
    • Possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
    • Ability to create and manage a budget
    • Able to give attention to detain and execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Able to deal with customers and company employees in courteous, professional, and effective manner.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Oversight of subcontractors and minor budget responsibilities are required for this position.
    • May be required to work a flexible work schedule and alternating workdays to meet mission and customer requirements.
    • A normal work week is 48 hours (5 days per week). Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires.
