Job Title: Environmental Planner

As an Environmental Planner you will be able to utilize your skill set to help preserve and protect the environment around us!
Responsibilities Include:
- Complete desk and field resource reviews including preparation of environmental clearance documents
- Read and interpret detailed utility work orders and construction plans
- Support senior level staff in the preparation of environmental reports, and permit applications through collection, management, and analysis of environmental data and information
- Review various documents and maps to interpret and create project tasks for environmental compliance
- Assist environmental services team in a variety of interdisciplinary environmental projects and tasks
- Preparation of detailed written documentation such as site forms and technical reports
- Use of ArcGIS and Google Earth Pro to analyze and create new datasets and maps
- Communicate with clients, agencies, and regulators
- Coordinate with various clients and personnel regarding scheduling, project requirements, and field work
- Assist with field work as needed including survey, monitoring and site assessment
- Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following site specific safety protocols and safe work practices
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-5 years of professional experience working in areas such as environmental review, biological survey, permitting, utility planning or similar fields
- Working knowledge in federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the management of environmental resources
- Familiarity with power and utility industries is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn new computer Software quickly
- Detail and process oriented
- Works as a team player
- Demonstrated experience using interpersonal skills to handle client related issues in an effective manner, which result in win-win situations
- Self-motivated
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients’ business needs
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and other work units
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and accountability for the accuracy of information and for achieving results
- Able to drive, traverse on uneven surfaces, occasionally lift up to 40 lbs, sit/stand for extended periods of time, work in various weather conditions, and possibly be in remote regions (coast, desert, and mountain)
Pay Bands:
- Environmental Planner – $19.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience and productivity.
