Environmental Health Technician:
Jefferson County Public Health Department is hiring an Environmental Health Technician. This position provides technical support for all Environmental Public Health programs including Food Safety, On-site Sewage, Solid/Hazardous Waste, Zoonotic Disease, Living Environment and Drinking Water and Water Quality programs. Assists in review of plans and/or permits, creates and maintains files, and responds to customers and inquiries.
Minimum qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Associates Degree (A.A. or A.A.S.) in natural sciences or environmental technology and one (1) year of experience working in a private or public sector in environmental, health, natural resources, ecology or related Environmental Health position; OR three (3) years of experience working in a public sector environmental, health, natural resources, engineering, ecology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in public health or for a public health related agency preferred.
Hours & Compensation:
40 hours per week with full benefits. UFCW position, Grade 25, Starting pay typically $25.19/hr. Full hourly range $25.19 to $30.08, DOE.
