Compensation Package: Temp $45/HR and logging covered by client if over 50 miles from Florence, KY
Direct Hired $60-91K
$150/Month project completion bonus

EHS Engineer
· This position is full-time on-site in Florence, KY, with occasional travel (under 5%) to other sites for training opportunities.
· The position may include working within the framework of 3 facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ability to use knowledge of OSHA standards to Adopt, Develop, and Implement the general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with local, state, regional, and national safety and health rules and regulations.
· Knowledge of but not limited to Hazardous Waste Generator and DOT requirements, LOTO, PIT, Walking and Working Surfaces, PPE, Electrical Safety, Material Movement, HAZCOM, and Ergonomics.
· Train employees in safe workplace practices.
· Ability to form relationships with partner departments and Leadership to facilitate a proactive EHS environment within the facility.
· Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention, and safety programs.
· Ability to recognize hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
· Facilitates Change Management within the facilities for EHS.
· Lays out manufacturing workspace to optimize a safe working environment.
· Formulates appropriate safety policies and guidelines.
· Inspects or tours facilities to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards.
· Recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
· Keeps managers and employees alerted about the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and other hazardous substances.
· Develops training programs and communications to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
· Participates in accident/injury investigations.
· Maintains safety files, systems, and records.
· Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
· Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
· Familiarity with EPA and DOT regulations, RCRA Hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal requirements.
· Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and permits.
· Prepare site environmental permit applications and maintain compliance with Downstairs records.
· Coordinate with insurance company and worker's compensation administrators.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related discipline is required.
· Minimum of 2 years of related Health/Safety manufacturing experience preferred OR an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to lead meetings and present during those meetings.
· Recent OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
