As a Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist your roles and responsibilities will include:
- The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist - Environmental Focus will lead the implementation, execution and maintenance of the environmental, Health and Safety and process safety management systems at low to medium complex facility, or help lead at a high complex facility.
- In this role, you will serve as a subject matter authority for the application of safe, compliant operational practices and demonstrate compliance with company policy, work processes, programs and standards that comply with environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
- This position will be focused on environmental regulatory compliance, assisting other parts of the Environmental Health and Safety job family as needed.
- Support the plant manager in facilitating the community and governmental interaction and the external reputation.
- Support contractor environmental, Health and Safety requirements during construction phase and help test and evaluate environmental, Health and Safety performance according to design during project startup phase.
- Partner with regional domain and country environmental, Health and Safety to support management of site impact assessments, operating permits and construction permits.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Chemical Engineering, Chemist, Environmental or other science degrees
- Previous governmental or environmental consulting experience
- Previous food processing or bio industrial manufacturing experience
- Confirmed ability to deliver processes effectively to optimize business resources
- Microsoft Suite proficiency
- Strong scientific and mathematical knowledge
- Solid working knowledge of environmental regulations, practices and standards that govern food and bio industrial facilities.
- Basic business acumen and the ability to partner and communicate effectively with business counterparts
