Radin is looking for an Environmental Engineer/ Planner (System Technology). We provide planning and engineering consulting services in various states and are looking for a candidate who can fill this role at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Primary duties will include preparing planning studies/reports with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical adequacy with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); reviewing design plans for assessing environmental impacts; applying green design principles; and coordinating with clients, stakeholders, resource agencies, and environmental and technical staff. Qualifications
1. Bachelors’ degree or higher in planning, environmental studies, transportation, and/or related field.
2. 8+ years of project management and/or professional related experience in a transportation consulting environment.
3. Advanced knowledge and understanding of NEPA, and other federal and state environmental regulations.
4. Certified planner (AICP) preferred.
General Requirements
5. Prescence at Project Site office is 100% required.

7. Regularly perform field visits and assessments.

9. Experience in the preparation or coordination of environmental studies such as air, noise, cultural resources or natural resources to support NEPA coordination.
Functional Requirements
1. Responsible for applying and ensuring National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.
2. Prepare, revise, and review NEPA-related technical documents, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statement, Assessments.
3. Interpret and integrate various technical studies into NEPA/environmental documentation.
4. Analyze data to support the preparation of environmental documents.
5. Develop, manage, and implement current or future environmental mitigation and/or monitoring plans that may result from a NEPA coordination.
6. Preparation of environmental permits as applicable. Coordination and follow up with local, state, and federal agencies who issue these permits.
7. Provide environmental permit/regulatory support, including site inspections and attendance at meetings with regulatory agencies.
8. Review Contractor documents and federal agency coordination and participation.
9. Review of selected Contractor upfront management plan and documents.
10. Conducting site inspections, participating in weekly project meetings, preparing reports on findings, advising Project on process and strategy, and coordinating with the overall team.
11. Review the Contractor’s Deficiency Reports and Corrective Action Reports when situations of environmental non-compliance occur and recommend possible options to address the deficiency/non-compliance promptly.
12. Ability to corral Lessons Learned present and future.
13. Understand and execute schedules. Feedback loop to master scheduling.
14. Understanding of System Technology and the various ideas and components of form, fit, function.
15. Develop a safety culture and practice as Project executes close to an existing operating System.
16. Interface with multiple Project parties – design, construction/installation, testing and commissioning.
Progress monitoring and reporting. Strong and clear paper trail.
