Stantec is seeking dynamic and creative candidates to join our US West Team as an environmental or civil or geological engineer. This position requires a detail-oriented individual, preferably with a background in Environmental Engineering, surface water, groundwater and/or soil remediation, and mine reclamation and familiarity with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).
- Prepare technical memoranda and detailed reports pertaining to field investigations, design studies, and construction activities.
- Support remediation activities (conceptual to closure) for mining and industrial operations and facilities.
- Assist with environmental sampling programs.
- Process and analyze GIS data.
- Familiar with remote sensing programs and field equipment.
- Remote sensing data collection, processing, and analysis via drones and satellite.
- Geotechnical monitoring via remote sensing from conceptual stage, project execution, to final delivery.
- Perform drone and survey equipment programming, data collection, data processing, and maintenance.
- Interface and develop relationships with our clients; develop and lead teams; develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules; develop and lead site investigations and characterization; develop detailed designs; execute and review calculations; and prepare expertly written reports.
- Exceptional technical writing skills, organizational skills, technical leadership abilities, oral communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Proven experience in mining and/or industrial sectors.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in the office and in the field at remote sites.
- Demonstrated successful experience to initiate and maintain relationships with local staff and key staff from other, remote locations.
- Demonstrated successful experience in client service management, including the ability to interface with clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships.
- Previous consultative work experience in site investigation, surface water, groundwater and soil remediation, and mine reclamation/closure including design and construction is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience using a total station, GPS and surveying software.
- Experience Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) would be considered an asset.
- Conduct aerial drone surveys of the mine site.
- Assists with mine planning projects.
- Performs other related responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
- Must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills.
- Knowledge/expertise in mining principles and techniques.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail. Strong analytical skills Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in environmental, civil, geological engineering, or similar field.
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Geological Engineering.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
- Valid driver's license.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

- Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI
- Min Pay Range: $79,400
- Max Pay Range: $115,200
- Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
