- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Science, Life Science, Natural Science, or related field, plus four (4) years of relevant experience.
- Graduation with a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
- One (1) additional year of experience may substitute for one (1) year of the required education with a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
Licenses or Certifications:
- May require a valid State of Texas Class C Driver License and the ability to meet driver eligibility standards detailed in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program.

POSITIONOVERVIEW:
This position works under supervision and reports to the Pond Inspection and Dam Safety section, which inspects and monitors Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) for compliance with City of Austin regulations. Conducts field inspections of critical infrastructure and issues notices of violations for non-compliance to address deficiencies. Communicates and coordinates with private property owners and contractors to achieve compliance. Works with external partners to help improve water quality programs.

DRIVINGREQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a valid State of Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:
This position will frequently work in the field to conduct inspections and must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 lbs. (e.g., moving a ladder to inspect a pond or pulling a stormwater pond gate open, etc.). Additionally, this position will require frequent standing/bending/stooping/walking/squatting/kneeling/reaching above shoulder level while conducting field inspections.
ENVIRONMENTALFACTORS:
